Cyber Communication

Cyber Communication is an information security company which was established in 1999 to help protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of our customer's information. Information is a critical asset, and as such it must be protected by a set of suitable controls – policies, practices, procedures, organizational structure, hardware and software functions. Cyber Communication is dedicated to providing standards-based information security program review, assessment, continuity and consulting services to businesses and governmental organizations.

Ingela Orlove - President

Ingela Orlove Ingela is a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). She is also Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Security Role certified and has a Masters Certification in Information Security. She has significant State of California and commercial experience conducting business impact assessments, risk assessments, and constructing disaster recovery and business continuity plans for State agencies including the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), the Department of Health Care Services Office of Systems Integration (OSI), the Department of Justice Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST), and the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS). Private clients have included: Sony Pictures, Patagonia, Granite Community Bank, the Bank of Butterfield, the Charleston Area Medical Center, Aptium Oncology.

Jack Orlove - Vice President

Jack Orlove Jack is a results-oriented business continuity and disaster recovery subject matter expert with over 30 years of project engagement and management experience in technical and non-technical domains. He has successfully built multiple IT disaster recovery solutions and has supported actual recovery of complex multi-vender environments in both campus synchronous and multi-campus asynchronous computing frameworks. His skills include integrating large legacy mainframe solutions with the most current virtualization solutions in fully consistent and resilient recovery models, reducing both recovery times (RTO) and support costs.

Jack has practical technical skills and experience (e.g. designed and managed the implementation for a complex 48 node ATM infrastructure project and an implementation project for a 600 node frame relay/DSL interstate retail network) and is comfortable with the latest computer, storage and software platforms. He has multi-jurisdictional experience and has managed international installations that encompassed 17 different countries and accounted for a variety of standards and regional regulations (e.g. ISO-17799, Basel II Framework, SOX, HIPAA, and GLBA).

Jack was the Nova University MBA 1993 class Valedictorian and has been a certified instructor for Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII) since 2005. He has multiple professional certifications (e.g. MBA, MBCI, CBCP, CISSP, ISSAP, GIAC, CISM, and CISA) and vendor experience (e.g. Cisco, VMware, EMC, Sun, DEC).

In each case, actual performance was compared to the required regulation(s) in order to architect reasonable and actionable strategies, enabling our clients to reduce risk and improve processes safely and securely.

  • Cyber consultants have over 20 years implementing complex technical solutions for private, government and regulated markets, which included performing business, technical and regulatory analysis as they relate to conformance and compliance to standards and requirements.
  • We have a track record and history with various security industry regulations providing gap analysis and remediation strategies for governmental entities including: Employment Development Department (EDD), California Alcohol and Drug Program (CADP), California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), California Department of Public Health (CDPH), Managed Risk Medical Insurance Board (MRMIB).

  • Cyber consultants have been involved in policy research, development, and implementation with a variety of state and local government agencies.

  • Our consultants have led in communicating and evangelizing various security requirements in a variety of venues to include the Department of Technology Services (DTS) Security Awareness Days, Government Technology Conference (GTC) presentations, and The State of California CIO Quarterly Forum.
